When my parents Joey and Odette Basmaji founded JACOB, they believed in creating beautiful, high-quality products while investing in the people and businesses that strengthen local communities. Throughout the 35 years that JACOB boutiques welcomed women across Canada, the company remained committed to manufacturing as much of its clothing as possible here at home.
At a time when most apparel retailers had shifted the majority of their production overseas, JACOB continued to manufacture at least 25% of every collection in Canada. It was a conscious decision that reflected the brand's commitment to supporting local manufacturers, preserving Canadian craftsmanship and helping create jobs within the country's fashion industry. That commitment continues today.
Fragrances Proudly Produced in Quebec
While JACOB has evolved from a beloved fashion retailer into a fragrance brand, its values remain unchanged. The company's fragrances are proudly crafted in Quebec in partnership with a trusted manufacturer in the Eastern Townships.
Although each fragrance was developed by the renowned perfumers at Robertet in Grasse, France, every bottle is filled, assembled and packaged in Quebec before making its way to customers across Canada.
Choosing Canadian-made products is about more than where they are produced. It is about supporting local expertise, Canadian businesses and the skilled people behind every product. It is a choice that helps preserve the knowledge, craftsmanship and manufacturing capabilities that have long been part of Canada's identity.
